The Board of Investments (BOI) on Friday granted tax incentives and other perks to six projects, including an operator of ports and three low-cost mass-housing ventures.

The Mindanao International Container Services Inc. secured tax and other perks for operating the Mindanao Container Terminal, a 270,000-TEU (twenty-foot equivalent unit) capacity container-handling facility at the Phividec Industrial Estate in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental.

The company, a unit of International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) won a contract to operate the port for 25 years.

Also bagging fiscal incentives were housing projects of 8990 Housing Development Corp., Kenrich Development Corp. and Fiesta Communities Inc. The first two projects are based in Cebu while the third is situated in Pampanga.
