LISTED Ayala Land, Inc. (ALI) will see
a change at its helm next week, banking on continuity as one veteran succeeds
another, the property developer said in a statement attached to its disclosure
yesterday.
ALI announced the nomination of Bernard Vincent “Bobby” O. Dy, currently
the company’s executive vice-president and chief operating officer, as
president and chief executive officer to succeed Antonino “Tony” T. Aquino who
will continue to serve as director and member of the executive committee of the
board.
ALI said Mr. Dy’s nomination will be
submitted to and confirmed by the board at an organizational meeting following
the stockholders’ meeting scheduled on April 7.
In its statement, ALI said 50-year-old
Mr. Dy studied and worked abroad for 16 years before joining the company in
1997. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the
University of Notre Dame in Indiana, USA and obtained a master’s degree in
business administration and in international relations at the University of
Chicago. ALI noted further that he held “senior regional roles” at
multinational firms in Hong Kong and China.
Since joining ALI, Mr. Dy has held
various leadership posts in the company, including at Fort Bonifacio
Development Corp. where he “spearheaded transformation of Bonifacio Global City
into the dynamic business district that it is today.”
The statement also quoted ALI Chairman
Fernando Zobel de Ayala as citing Mr. Aquino’s “exceptional leadership
throughout his 34-year career with the Ayala group,” including at Ayala
Property Management Corp. and Manila Water Company, Inc.
“We are confident that Bobby Dy’s
experience… will keep the company on its growth trajectory,” Mr. Zobel de Ayala
added.
