THE operator of Baguio Convention Center carnival voluntarily demolished structures put up in the area even before members of the city demolition team arrive.
Mayor Reinaldo Bautista Jr. ordered the demolition of the carnival last Thursday as its operator, RFE Amusement Rides, represented by former broadcaster Macky Magpili, was found operating without a business permit.
The carnival was supposed to operate until June 2 but its operation was cut short due to complaints from some groups.
The mayor said if the group secured a business permit, the carnival operator would not go through the hassle.
The voluntary dismantling prevented violence, but RFE Amusement Rides plans to appeal Bautista's decision.
