SOME P12.19 billion has been allocated by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to implement a total of 1,902 infrastructure projects in Northern Mindanao from 2009 up to June 30, this year.
Of the amount, P6.53 billion or 53.57 percent have been allocated to implement 1,596 projects under the All Funds Calendar Year (AFCY) 2009 Infrastructure Program (IP) and P5.66 billion or 46.43 percent for 306 projects under the AFCY 2010 IP, according to Engr. Jerome dela Rosa, DPWH regional director.
The fund sources, the number of projects and the amount from each source in the AFCY 2009 IP included the following -- DPWH, 108 projects with P4.85 billion; Senate, eight projects worth P9.2 million; House of Representatives, 1,150 projects worth P519.62 million; and party-lists, 11 projects worth P7.35 million.
Also included are various local infrastructures with 148 projects amounting to P1.027 billion; other national public works with two projects worth P2.5 million; Department of Education School Building Program with 156 projects worth P102.06 million and the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) with 13 projects worth P17.5 million.
The projects implemented under AFCY 2009 IP, which totaled 1,446 projects or 90.60 percent worth P3.32 billion, have been completed while 116 projects or 7.27 percent worth P2.94 million are still on-going.
Dela Rosa said at least 31 projects or 1.94 percent worth P194,215 have not been started while three projects or 0.18 percent worth P70,450 have been suspended.
He said the AFCY 2009 IP implementation posted an 89.58 percent revised and 89.47 percent actual accomplishment and a negative slippage of 0.11 percent as of June 30. (PIA)
