The Cabinet-level Investment Coordination Committee under the National Economic and Development Authority on Friday approved the P1.4-billion Daang Hari-South Luzon Expressway Link Road, one of the infrastructure projects set for bidding under the so-called public-private partnership initiative.
The project involves the construction of a new four-kilometer, four-lane toll road from Daang Hari, Bacoor in Cavite to Southern Luzon Expressway near the Susana Heights interchange, passing through the New Bilibid Prison Reservation.
It will provide an alternative route from Cavite to Metro Manila, aiming to increase the competitiveness of Calabarzon, or Region IV-A, as an investment destination.
It will reduce travel time from Daang Hari to the Alabang interchange by 30 to 40 minutes and decongest traffic in some parts of Cavite, Las Piñas and Muntinlupa.
“The project will support one of the objectives in the 2011-2016 Philippine Development Plan, that is, to develop an integrated multimodal logistics and transport system that will spread development from large cities to smaller town and rural areas,” said Economic Planning Secretary Cayetano Paderanga Jr.
