Pag-IBIG Fund Chief Executive Officer Acmad Rizaldy Moti on Thursday
said that despite the legal setback they will pursue the case to hold
businessman Delfin Lee responsible for the P6.6 billion Globe Asiatique
scam.
On 31 July, the Supreme Court (SC) downgraded the syndicated estafa
case against Lee to only simple estafa, making Lee eligible for bail.
Moti said they are saddened by the SC decision but they continue to
trust in due process and in the integrity of the justice system.
“This recent decision of the Supreme Court does not mean that he is
innocent of fraud. The trial will continue. We will continue to pursue
what is in the best interest of the Fund, our members and all the home
owners and borrowers affected by Lee’s actions,” Moti said in a
statement.
