A lawyer advocate issued a call to the National Police Commission and the Philippine Public Safety College (PPSC) to “get their act together” regarding a 7.1-hectare property within Fort Bonifacio, so that development efforts will begin as planned.
Lawyer Rafael de la Torre, advocacy director of the CPI Organizational Studies and Advocacy, said “there is no reason for conflict between Napolcom and the PPSC since they belong to one department, the Department of the Interior and Local Government.”
PPSC president Margarita Cojuangco has rejected the relocation of the PPSC, despite an earlier agreement that the campus be transferred to another site.
“My co-UP Law alumnus Ed Escueta [Napolcom vice chairman] and Ms. Cojuangco must now thresh out their differences, otherwise the project will be very much delayed and Megaworld might even sue government for damages,” De la Torre pointed out.
Documents showed that BCDA, Megaworld and Napolcom signed a joint-venture/development agreement where Megaworld will make available 2,000 sqm in office space for Napolcom and DILG, construct an office building to occupy 24,995 sqm, and make available 500 residential units.
The PPSC president has been offered a number of relocation sites, but she found all these unacceptable.
