DAVAO CITY -- Sta. Lucia Realty and Development, Inc. has launched its ninth project here, a 14-hectare residential subdivision near the Davao International Airport, about 10 kilometers north of the city’s central business district.
The project, located at the Davao City Diversion Road and a 30-minute ride from this city’s downtown, is dubbed Valle Verde Residential Estate. It will have a commercial center that will host shops and restaurants, a clubhouse, meditation and recreation areas, as well as sports facilities like a basketball court and a swimming pool.
“Before, [there] was a wall that separated this area from the outside.
But Sta. Lucia [is tearing that down] with its fully furnished developments,” said Liezel Tuason-Magpoc, vice-president for sales and marketing of Orchard Property Marketing Corp., Sta. Lucia’s marketing arm.
Ms. Magpoc said Valle Verde will also feature “wide concrete road walks and paved sidewalks, an underground storm drainage system, a centralized water system, electrical facilities, and a landscaped entrance in line with the company’s residential subdivision norms.
Sta. Lucia has eight existing projects, three of them golf and leisure communities, in Davao since it started operations here in 1997. These are Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Residential Estates, Sun City Golf and Residential Estates, South Pacific Golf and Leisure Estates, Green Meadows, Alta Monte, Davao Riverfront Corporate City, Las Palmas, and Ciudad Verde.
Jim Patrick Pilapil, marketing and training supervisor of Orchard Property, told BusinessWorld a 120-square-meter lot in Valle Verde will cost P600,000.
“The total inventory is more than 500 lots,” he said, although he declined to reveal how many lots have been sold so far. -- Joel B. Escovilla
