REAL ESTATE search site MyProperty.ph is looking to attract more visitors and listings next year on the back of a redesigned online platform, officials said.

The homegrown property Web site, which registered 100,000 unique users, 40,000 property listings, and tie-ups with 40 major developers since its launch in August last year, will be revamped and reintroduced to the public in January, Kay Lagman, MyProperty marketing manager, said on the sidelines of the Web site’s first anniversary party last week.

By January next year, the new Web site will employ a new platform dubbed XBASE, developed by technology firm Media Swiss Group.

The new platform is is expected to introduce more advertising options, integration of social networking sites, faster loading time, and better rankings on Internet search machines.

“The Web site will be more robust and engaging, and this will definitely encourage more searches and listings,” said Lisa Gokongwei-Cheng, president of Summit Media, which tied up with Swiss-based Ringier AG to form MyProperty’s operator Get Sold Corp.

In terms of trends, properties for sale continue to comprise a bulk of total site searches while searches for rentals seem to be grouting as well.

“When we started back in mid-2010, we were looking at more searches for properties ‘for sale,’ and then the trend shifted to ‘for rent’ and ‘rent to own.’ I believe it’s seasonal, and reflects economic conditions,” Ms. Lagman said.

The Web site also saw increased searches in emerging property markets such as Cebu, Laguna, Davao, and Pampanga, she said. -- Franz Jonathan G. de la Fuente
