State-owned Bases
Conversion and Development Authority said Monday it is finalizing the terms of
reference for the open bidding of a 33-hectare property in Taguig City.
BCDA executive vice
president Aileen Zosa said the agency was preparing for the bidding of the
large property early next year.
“[The terms of
reference] is still being finalized,” she said, adding that the bidding might
start soon.
Several real estate
developers have expressed interest in the property after the government
rejected the proposal of SM Land to develop the property for P20 billion.
Filinvest Land Inc.
of the Gotianun family recently expressed interest to join the bidding, saying
it was expecting the terms to be finished soon.
“We are looking into
it…. we have to see the terms of reference for the bidding,” Josephine
Gotianun-Yap, president and chief
executive of Filinvest Alabang Inc., a unit of Filinvest Land Inc., said in a
chance interview.
Other firms that
earlier expressed interest in the project were Ayala Land Inc., consultancy
firm Jones Lang LaSalle-Leechiu, Megaworld Corp., Robinsons Land Corp. and
Rockwell Land Corp.
SM Land submitted an
unsolicited bid to develop the 33.1-hectare BNS/PMC/Ascom/SSU property for P20
billion. However, the BCDA, complying
with a directive from MalacaƱang, opted to go for an open competitive bidding.
