Some 8,750 families affected by Phase 2 of the Northrail project can start moving to their new community in March.
Vice President and concurrent Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council chair Noli de Castro said there are three relocation sites in Pampanga --Barangay Calulut, San Fernando; Barangay Cutud, Angeles, and Barangay Atlu Bola, Mabalacat.
“Construction of houses will start immediately as soon as its development is completed. They shall be turned over to the beneficiaries as they arrive in the relocation sites,” he said.
De Castro recently inspected the relocation sites to fast-track their completion.
“Our timetable for relocation in these sites will be from March to July. We will just make sure that schools will already be available and operational by then,” he said.
Approximately 12,257 informal settlers in San Fernando, Angeles and Mabalacat are set to be transferred to the resettlement areas.
