MANILA Mayor Alfredo Lim will meet with the residents of Pandacan as the deadline to veto or approve the ordinance on the oil depot draws near.
Earlier, Lim asked representatives from the departments of energy, national defense and trade and industry; the board of investments and city officials, to submit their position on or before Wednesday so his decision will suit everybody’s satisfaction.
The representatives expressed concerns on how the supply and prices of petroleum products will be affected once the depot is relocated.
They also worry over the huge number of oil tankers that will ply the streets of Metro Manila and Northern Luzon every day when the relocation pushes through.
Lim said aside from technical experts, he will consult the Pandacan residents who are the ones directly affected by the issue.
As of 4 p.m. yesterday, Lim was set to meet with the members of the archdiocese, along with representatives of foreign chambers of commerce.
