Brittany
Corp., a unit of homebuilder Vista Land & Lifescapes that caters to the
high-end market, plans to introduce smart homes within the company’s
residential developments starting in the second half of the year.
Brittany
president Camille Villar said smart homes, which allows homeowners to control
their houses, is the current trend in the housing sector and that the company
plans to integrate the technology into its projects.
“It is the
trend in the housing now, to be able to control your home. Turn on the aircon,
turn on the security, turn on your light. Monitor your electricity and your
security from afar, in your mobile phone, in your tablet. So we’re going to
integrate that technology into a home,” Villar said.
Villar said
the incremental cost of including the technology into Brittany projects homes
was negligible and would be part of the package.
Brittany will
be introducing smart homes first in its Portofino project in Alabang, where
house and lot packages sell for P20 million to P50 million, as well as in
Crosswinds in Tagaytay.
Villar said
Brittany would look at available technology that it could offer to home buyers after a lot of individuals opted
to adopt smart home technology into their houses.
“We felt that
there are a lot of key services that were already available individually like
when you’re looking at security, CCTV cameras… so we put it all together and
make into a package for our buyers. We took what was relevant. We took what was
necessary. And we kind of repackaged it and integrated it into our homes,” she
said.
