DATU Paglas, Maguindanao. – Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Gov. Datu Zaldy Ampatuan will lead the inauguration of the new municipal building here named after former Mayor Datu Ibrahim Paglas, Jr. on July 15.
Ampatuan, together with Maguindanao Gov. Datu Andal Ampatuan, will grace the occasion. He will be accompanied by Mayor Mohammad Paglas Alhaj, Vice Mayor Datu Ahmed Paglas and municipal officials.
Paglas Alhaj and Datu Ahmed Paglas upgraded the three-decades-old municipal hall by virtue of a municipal resolution. The new building is equipped with modern facilities.
A former war zone, this town is now the center of foreign investment after former Mayor Datu Toto Paglas III transformed it into an economic zone.
The town is a prime banana-producing area, supplying foreign countries like U.S.A., Japan, Middle East and Europe.
