MORE job opportunities could be up for grabs in Taguig City after Ericsson Telecommunications Inc., one of the world’s leading multinational technology and service providers, has chosen the city as a venue for the company’s newest human resources hub.

“We appreciate Ericsson’s support in participative governance which I believe is the key to our growth,” Mayor Freddie Tiñga of Taguig said.

Ericsson Philippines and South Pacific President and Country Manager Rajendra Pangrekar said they have chosen Taguig as their latest global business operations hub because of its potential as “the city of the future”.

“We see Fort Bonifacio in Taguig as the city that will cater to our needs in the next ten years, especially when it comes to physical infrastructure, convenience, and accessibility to the central business district,” Pangrekar said.

Ericsson’s Human Resources Global Shared Services Center (HR-GSSC), housed at the One World Square in Fort Bonifacio in the city, will handle Ericsson’s key human resources administrative processes and will implement their other global HR programs.

The HR-GSSC is the organization’s second offshore operations in Taguig and in the country.

Its first off-shore operation, the Ericsson Shared Services Center, processes the organization’s global invoicing and accounts payable transactions.

The division, which employs not less than 200 personnel, was previously based in Ortigas after transferring to the Net Square Building in Fort Bonifacio in 2006.

Ericsson, the leader in 2G and 3G mobile technologies, also supplies communications services and manages networks that serve more than 195 million subscribers worldwide.
