BALER, Aurora -- Three community offices of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources in Central Luzon will be abolished with the implementation of the rationalization plan of the national government.
Regidor de Leon, DENR regional executive director for Central Luzon, said the community environment and natural resources offices or CENROs in Talavera, Nueva Ecija, Baler in Aurora and Cabanggan, Zambales will be abolished.
De Leon said provinces with three community offices will only have two. He said if he could have his way, he would prefer that Pampanga, the regional capital which has one CENRO, should have two.
CENRO-Talavera under Raul Batang has jurisdiction over nine municipalities in Nueva Ecija, including Pantabangan and Bongabon, covering 33,688.6 hectares of forest land.
De Leon said employees whose positions would be affected by the streamlining can apply with the Enviromental Management Bureau or the Mines and Geo-sciences Bureau, both attached bureaus of the DENR.
