GUIMARAS has been chosen as the first of 10 provinces to benefit from a five-year project of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) funded by P3.8-billion (A$100 million) assistance from the Australian Agency for International Development.
A DILG statement said Guimaras Gov. Felipe Hilan Nava and Australian Amabassador Rod Smith signed the deal last week.
DILG Usec. Austere A. Panadero said in a "text" message yesterday that the project will cover 10 Visayas and Northern Mindanao provinces. — LDD
