TACLOBAN CITY — The national government has allocated P500 million this year for the expansion of the Daniel Z. Romualdez Airport and relocation of around 200 families displaced by the project, Merla Negradas, Civil Aviation Authority area manager for Eastern Visayas, told reporters here.
The airport, which occupies 123.7 hectares, will be expanded by over 100 hectares, to include a shore protection wall, and asphalt overlay of the runway. Some P155 million has also been released for a new passenger terminal. — S. Q. Meniano
