THE Taguig City government’s Gawad Kalinga will award 300 squatters residing on Laura Drive, Bgy. Bagumbayan, with low-cost housing.

Members of the First Laura Drive Neighborhood Association (FLDNA), which consists of 326 families and led by William Payot, expressed their gratitude and support to the mayor for the project.

Mayor Freddie Tiñga said the city government continues to find ways to help improve the lives of its residents, particularly the homeless.

“We believe that in giving the underprivileged more decent homes, we help restore their dignity and self-respect. This will somehow help change their mindset and strive to uplift their lives from living in poverty,” said Tiñga.

The GK Enterntainment Village is the organization’s pioneer housing project in Bgy. Bagumbayan, with the help from its Malaysian-based partner, Shirley Maya Tan, chief executive officer of Revolver Asia.

Revolver Asia is the international arm of Revolver Studios, a Philippine-based full production house that produces video documentaries, television advertisements, and music videos.
