THE Department of Public Works and Highways is working hard to make the Cagayan Economic Zone Authority the economic hub of northern Luzon with the construction of new roads.
In line with President Macapagal-Arroyo’s call to speed up infra projects, DPWH Regional Director Eugenio Pipo said they are working round the clock to complete the concreting of phase 6 of the San Vicente-Lubak-Anguib-Gutan road by January.
“Both the President and Public Works Secretary Hermogenes Ebdane, Jr. want us to complete the road network to make CEZA accessible and attractive to local and foreign investors,” Pipo quoted Undersecretary Romeo Momo, in charge of DPWH-2 operations, as saying during a recent inspection of the projects.
He said they started last month the P100-million concreting of the 11-kilometer San Vicente-Lubak-Anguib-Gutan road which passes through CEZA.
Danilo Tabilas of the Cagayan 1st Engineering District said they have completed Phase 1 to 5, which involves the opening of new road which was completed last May.
Tabilas said they have another on-going project that will pass through CEZA –the P50-million concreting of the Visitacion to Capannikian road.
