Eton Properties Philippines Inc. is expanding its portfolio of tourism-related businesses, tapping experts to design one of its projects that will rise in the South.
Danilo E. Ignacio, Eton president, said the company is likewise looking to put up a businessman’s hotel in one of its Makati projects.
"We will be aggressive in tourism," said Ignacio.
He declined to name the site of Eton’s first foray into tourism-related business until the plan is finished.
Early on, Eton was reportedly eyeing the development of a Cebu property owned by its sister-company Philippine National Bank.
Ignacio also earlier said that the firm plans to put up a 250-room businessman’s hotel in the 12-hectare Eton Centris project in Quezon City.
The project will now be complemented by another businessman’s hotel in its Eton Tower Makati.
Eton Tower Makati, a former project of listed developer Megaworld Corp., will now be developed by Eton into a mixed-use residential and commercial property where Eton’s first small-office-home-office (SOHO) will be unveiled.
Eton Tower City sits on a 2,874-square-meter property behind Rufino Towers on Ayala Avenue.
Eton has tapped a Los Angeles-based planner to design the development of the 1,000-hectare Eton City in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
Ignacio said development work for the South Lake Village component of the property has been completed and turnover of the man-made lots in the 35-hectare project is set for the second half of the year.
