MANILA, Philippines — Ayala Land Inc. (ALI) recently broke ground for Fairview Terraces, a mixed-use development to rise at the heart of northern Quezon City that is envisioned to enhance the urban landscape of the area.

Fairview Terraces will comprise both a mall and an office component and has a gross floor area of 114,000 square meters. It will be the company’s second major commercial development in the area following the launch of Trinoma in 2007.

According to Cora Dizon, ALI Commercial Business Group’s Head of Business Development, Fairview Terraces is projected to become a favorite gathering place for shoppers and office workers alike.

“The project will provide a relaxed environment that is conducive to work and play. The retail component will offer a unique mix of dining, shopping and entertainment concepts while the office component will cater to workers from the BPO offices,” said Dizon.

Fairview Terraces will become a natural convergence point that will enhance shopping experience while providing easy access to the workplace.

The highlight of the development will be a central garden that will feature a lush landscaped promenade surrounded by al fresco dining establishments. This was designed to provide natural lighting and increase ventilation in the mall.

Fairview Terraces is a co-development project between ALI and Ellimac Prime Holdings, Inc. which is the holding company of the Puregold chain. The first phase of the project will be completed in 2013.

Attending the recent groundbreaking ceremony were ALI President and CEO Antonino T. Aquino, Puregold Price Club Inc., and Ellimac Prime Holdings Inc. Chairman Lucio Co, Puregold Price Club Inc. President Leonardo Dayao and executives from Ayala Land’s Commercial Business Group.
