State socialized-housing agency National Housing Authority is eyeing three more joint ventures for the development of its properties.
Chito M. Cruz, NHA general manager, said of the three properties, one is nearing completion of the bidding process and may have its developer identified within the year.
The NHA currently has a joint venture with developer Ayala Land Inc. for the P22 billion Quezon City Central Business District in North Triangle.
Cruz said the properties for which the NHA is eyeing joint ventures are a two-hectare lot on LRA-NIA road in Pasay City, a property along Agham Road in Quezion City, and lot near Veterans Memorial Hospital.
In NHA’s Ayala Land joint venture, Cruz said just about 2,900 of the 9,000 families occupying the property have yet to be relocated.
The relocation of the families turned violent recently after the forced eviction of illegal settlers.
Ayala Land earlier said the project is eyed to become the first transit-oriented mixed-use central business district.
It will be linked to three Metro Rail Transit stations.
The project aims to "rationalize and speed up" development of the East and North Triangles of Quezon City "into well-planned, integrated and environmentally balanced, mixed-use communities."
A development plan crafted by the Quezon City local government plans to turn the 250-hectare North and East Triangles into a commercial district.
Part of the plan is to organize the CBD into five distinct commercial/residential/ recreational districts, with a mix of high-rise condominiums, medium and lower density housing, malls, offices, and entertainment parks.
