The Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA) will expand the Boulevard 2000 project, envisioned as a Manila Bay Development Triangle.
Peter A. Abaya, chief executive officer of PRA, said the Manila Bay sector (MBS) reclamation will be a well-planned development with complementary land uses evolving into new self-contained communities and cities.
The MBS plan includes new reclamation areas in Ternate, Cavite, in the south, extending along the coast parallel to the shorelines of Manila Bay, going up north and passing through the territorial waters of various local government units (LGUs) of Cavite, Metro Manila, Bulacan and Pampanga up to Balanga in Bataan.
The reclaimed areas will be developed into complementary land uses. The southern portion is earmarked for industrial uses given its proximity to the Cavite industrial sites and adjoining the proposed Cavite coast reclamation project, which is intended for a transshipment facility with international port and airport.
PRA said certain portions will be maintained for eco-tourism development particularly those areas now developed for resort and recreational purposes.
