The new leadership at the Subdivision and Housing Developers Association (SHDA) envisioned more support and success in the efforts to address the housing backlog in the country and will have major shelter projects in place as early as the first quarter of next year.
Vice President Jejomar Binay, also the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC) chairman, had called on SHDA’s newly-elected officers to push for more collaborations between the public and private sectors to facilitate the delivery of more sustainable housing and urban development projects.
Paul Tanchi of Basic Housing Solutions Inc. and now SHDA’s president said that the housing sector is indeed in need of firm support from private institutions. Tanchi added the huge investments in the housing sector will not only help ease the country’s 3.7 million estimated housing deficiency but also generate more jobs and create new businesses.
Former SHDA president Manuel Crisostomo of Firm Builders Realty Development Corp. who retains his post as chairman in the group said he will support Tanchi’s programs.
Others who will also be assuming new positions within the organization are Christopher Narciso of Robinsons Land Corp. stands as the organization’s new first vice president while George Siy of Convergence Realty Development Corp. is second vice president.
SM Development Corp.’s Armenia Ballesteros was voted corporation secretary and Citihomes Builder and Development Inc.’s Rosie Wang will be the new auditor. Epifanio Santillan of PA Metro Residence, Inc. was appointed treasurer and Rene Ledesma Jr. of Ledesco Development Corp. is the new public relations officer.
SHDA together with government housing institutions PAG-IBIG and HUDCC are now planning to make improvements within the housing sector, from the processes to the actual delivery of units to buyers.
