BUDGET CARRIER Cebu Pacific will add four daily flights to the Boracay gateway of Caticlan starting Dec. 10 in anticipation of increased demand during the holidays.
In a statement, the Gokongwei-owned airline noted that Boracay continues to be the country’s single biggest tourist destination. "We want to make sure that there are enough low-fare seats to Boracay so we can draw both local and foreign tourists to this world-class destination," Cebu Pacific Vice-President for Marketing Candice A. Iyog said in a statement.
The airline will also double its flight frequency to Kalibo, which is also near Boracay, to twice daily. The airline will use its fifth brand new ATR 72-500 aircraft for the added flights, bringing the airline’s daily flights to Caticlan to eight.
"The additional frequencies come just in time for the Christmas holidays when we anticipate increased traffic to Boracay," Ms. Iyog said. Fares to Caticlan start at P1,188. Passengers with bags must add P200. — Paolo Luis G. Montecillo
