BUTUAN CITY – At least P1.8-billion flagship infrastructure projects of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo are set for public bidding by the end of this month at the regional office of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) here.
Northeastern Mindanao DPWH Regional Director Romeo S. Mom, said the public bidding will be supervised by the Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) where big names in the construction industry already submitted their letters of intent in the multibillion infrastructure projects in Northeastern Mindanao.
The bidding will also be witnessed by non-government organizations, including representatives from the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP).
The big projects scheduled for public bidding are the P276,038,250 concreting of the Aras-asan-Marihatag Subsection along Cirtes-Tandag City-Marihatag Section; the P157,024,800 concreting of Tagasaka-Bislig City Subsection along Bislig CityBoston Section; the P133,170,000 concreting of Unaban-Sumo-sumo Subsection, and Matho-Buenavista Subsection along Cortes-Tandag City-Marihatag Section; the P244,724,000 concreting of Cortes-Buenavista Subsection along Cortes-Tandag City-Marihatag Section; the P259,903,450 Bislig City-Lingig Subsection along Bislig City-Boston Section; and the P257,780,450 concreting of Lianga-Barobo Subsection along Marihatag-Hinatuan-Bislig City Section, all of Surigao del Sur.
The P325,591,000 concreting of Lingig-Boundary Boston Section along Bislig City-Boston Section (Surigao del Sur); the P131,240,000 construction of 14 bridges and approaches along Dinagat Island province road networks in New Mabuhay Sta. Cruz-Llamera Section; the P173,700,000 construction of 18 bridges and approaches along Dinagat Island road networks in Llamera-San Jose-General Aguilnaldo-Mabini Section; and the P81,060,000 construction of 11 bridges and approaches along Dinagat Island road network in Mabini-Loreto Section, all of Dinagat Island province.
"All set for the resumption of this big projects in Northeastern Mindanao region, particularly in two Surigao provinces and the newly created Dinagat province," added Director Momo.
The DPWH in Northeastern Mindanao assured that all national roads in major thoroughfares especially in the Agusan and Surigao are passable during the long holiday vacation in observance of the Lenten Season.
