A NEW 4,600-square-meter development in Mabolo, Cebu City hopes to serve local business process outsourcing employees coming from the Ayala Business Park and Asiatown IT (information technology) Park, as well as the surrounding residential and commercial markets.

The Gallery, which is located along Juan Luna Ave., was inaugurated last Saturday.

Denden Alo, JEGVEG Realty Inc. property and business development manager, said the building has over 1,000 square meters of leasable spaces that can accommodate at least 15 tenants.

The property used to be the site of a horse-riding school. Its owners, the families of the late Jose and Vicente Escaño Garcia, decided to redevelop the area into another pocket development that targets professionals and the community, among others.

In a press statement, the Gallery was conceptualized as “an entertainment and lifestyle destination where city-dwellers, young and old alike, can dine, shop and relax.”

Amid the proliferation of commercial boutique arcades, the Gallery was designed to be different with its “al fresco type areas that give the development a European-like edge and complements with Cebu’s year-round weather.”

“By using color and geometric shapes in organizing elements, the Gallery is art and space in harmony,” said architect Rene Ybañez of his latest creation.

To implement an inter casa design, the Garcia family chose Dakay Construction Development Corp. as contractor, the statement read.

Alo said there are still a few units available for lease. Her office is inviting all prospective commercial tenants to visit the Gallery. (NRC)
