The envoy of Saudi Arabia King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz to the Philippines, Ambassador Mohammad Ameen Wali, said yesterday that the friendly relations between the kingdom and the Philippines are growing stronger.
Wali said this was shown by his government’s acquisition of a new embassy building in Salcedo Village, Makati City that costs $ 15 million (over P650 million).
"Our new embassy building is a good sign that our friendly relations with the Philippines will grow stronger in the future," said Wali. "This is a sign of our excellent relations with the Philippines and the Filipino people."
Wali said the embassy has been issuing over 1,000 visas everyday to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), adding that Saudi Arabia appreciates their contributions to the country’s development.
The Saudi diplomat noted that the number of OFWs in the kingdom has reached about 1.2 million. They are working in every aspect of its development.
