AN OFFICIAL of AyalaLand vowed to provide more than 10,000 job opportunities in Iloilo once its techno hub project is completed at the riverside boardwalk of Barangay San Rafael in Mandurriao town.
AyalaLand President and Chief Executive Officer Antonino Aquino said the P1 billion worth techno hub will have three buildings, including two business process outsourcing facilities supported by a retail component such as restaurants, shops and boutiques and other fun centers.
The initial phase of the project will involve the construction of a first four-storey building with approximately 9,500 square meters of gross leasable area. It is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2011, Aquino said.
He added that the project was made knowing that Iloilo has a quality pool of graduates who are ready to work in fully integrated Information Technology (IT) and IT-services community.
"Iloilo City ranked fourth in the 2010 List of Top Ten Next Wave Cities in the country compiled by the Business Processing Association of the Philippines because of its attractive support infrastructures and favorable business environment," Aquino said during the groundbreaking rites Friday at the two-hectare site.
With that, he said the techno hub will have its own generous water reservoir and sufficient generator sets for power as environment-friendly structures in Iloilo City.
The Iloilo techno hub is the third of its kind in the country. AyalaLand had also built the UP AyalaLand Techno Hub in Quezon City and the One Evotech in Nuvali, Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
