The Aquino administration has ruled that the Philippine Heart Center is exempted from paying real property taxes being a government-owned or -controlled corporation.
Presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda made the announcement amid reports that Quezon City Hall was up for auction over tax deliquencies.
He said corporate counsel Raoul Creencia and the local executives were taking up the demand letter of Treasurer Edgar Villanueva for about P47 million unpaid taxes since 1996. Joyce Pangco Pañares
