Robinson’s
Land Corp. (RLC) plans to add three hotels to its portfolio next year amid
strong growth forecast for the rest of its business units.
Frederick Go,
RLC president and chief operating officer, told reporters that some of the
company’s business units are doing good including the hotel business.
“We’re
opening three hotels. We are expanding the Iloilo mall designed by the famous
Ilonggo architect with the Go Hotel,” he said.
Go said that
the hotels are set to be located in Iloilo and Cyberspace Alpha in Ortigas. The
other location has yet to be identified.
“Cyberspace
Alpha is about 200 rooms, while Iloilo is 110,” he said.
RLC currently
has hotels in Palawan, Bacolod, Dumaguete and Tacloban.
Go added that
they are going to expand their Mini Stop Convenience Store and Robinson’s
Supermarket.
“[In our
Supermarket outside malls] we are expanding agressively din,” Go said.
For RLC’s
residential business, Go also said that they are also looking at strong growth.
“We’re seeing
very strong growth,” he said.
“We used to
be a conscious developer, parang pababa kami [it looked like we were
declining], but now dramatically we’re going up. So that for me is a big deal,”
the RLC official said.
In mid
November, RLC announced that it is set to build a mixed-use development in
Libis, Quezon City after acquiring a two-hectare property from Republic Glass
Holdings Corp.
In a
disclosure to Philippine Stock Exchange, RLC said that it signed an agreement
with Republic Glass for the acquisition of the two-hectare property located in
Quezon City.
“We will be
building a mixed use development. No data on price acquisition,” RLC said.
