Bloomberry Resorts Corp. said Wednesday it will open and
start the operations of its $1.2-billion hotel and casino in ParaƱaque City on
March 16 this year.
Bloomberry said in a disclosure to the stock exchange
Solaire Resorts & Casino would open 500 hotel rooms for the initial phase
next month and another 300 hotel rooms after two years.
“The project when Phase 1 and Phase1a are completed would
cost approximately $1.2 billion. We are targeting to open for commercial
operation on March 16, 2013,” Bloomberry said.
Bloomberry said it hired top former operating officers of
world-renown casinos in Las Vegas and other parts of the world and brought home
and employed about 400 Filipinos working in gaming and hotels abroad.
“Many of the most modern resort and gaming equipment and
facilities are installed and will be used in Solaire Manila,” Bloomberry said.
It said aside from the 500 hotel rooms, the first phase of
the Solaire Manila project would include the construction of 18,500 square
meters of gaming space and high-end retail establishments.
The initial phase involves the development spa and fitness
facility, a 1,800-seat theater and other retail and entertainment
establishments, which will cost an additional $250 million.
Bloomberry earlier appointed Global Gaming Asset Management
to provide management service for the Solaire Manila project.
GGAM said it was expecting VIPs and high rollers to account
for 45 percent of the project’s gaming revenues and the mass market to
contribute 55 percent.
The 8.3-hectare Solaire will be the first integrated resort
to open in the government-sponsored Entertainment City in ParaƱaque City.
