Robinsons Land to launch more projects

Posted on February 25, 2013 10:39:21 PM [ BusinessWorld Online ]
PROPERTY FIRM Robinsons Land Corp. expects to launch roughly the same number of projects under its Robinsons Luxuria and Robinsons Residences brands this year as last year, a senior company official said yesterday.
“It’s usually two to three (projects) per year. We will do that again this year. We will continue launching projects to sustain our inventory and to take advantage of the good market reception we are enjoying,” Mybelle V. Aragon-Gobio, Robinsons Land senior vice-president for Robinsons Residences and Robinsons Luxuria, told reporters on the sidelines of the launch yesterday of the firm’s Ring Rob digital concierge and Robinsons Lifestyle Cards at the Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria, Quezon City.
“Interest rates are being kept at low levels, the OFW (overseas Filipino workers) remittances, the vibrant BPO (business process outsourcing) market -- it’s a combination of all those factors. There is real demand because the housing backlog is something that needs to be served,” she said when asked on growth drivers this year.
She noted that, combined, the two brands account for roughly three-fourths of the Robinsons Land’s business.
Robinsons Luxuria builds upscale developments, with three completed projects in Cebu, Makati City, and Ortigas Center, while Robinsons Residences constructs high- and mid-rise developments in urban areas and business districts, with 16 completed projects nationwide.
Ms. Aragon-Gobio declined to cite locations of launches this year, but noted these will include The Radiance Manila Bay, a two-tower residential development along Manila Bay that had a soft launch last month.
“Reception for The Radiance has been very encouraging. We are targeting Fil-Chinese and Chinese families who wish to remain in the Manila area but do not want to be too far from the traditional business district,” she said.
