ALLIANCE GLOBAL Group, Inc. plans to build four more hotels at its entertainment complex Resorts World Manila by 2016 in a bid to deepen its presence in the tourism industry, a ranking official yesterday said.
The developments will come on top of three existing hotels in Resorts World across Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3.
Two of the planned additions will be five-star hotels while the other two will in the affodable class, said Alliance Global President and Chief Operating Officer Kingson U. Sian at a press briefing after the company’s stockholders’ meeting yesterday.
The target is to attract 600,000 local and foreign hotel visitors to Resorts World Manila annually and five million in foot traffic by the yearend versus two million realized last year, Mr. Sian said.
Upon completion of all seven hotels on Newport Boulevard, Resorts World Manila’s main artery, the company will reportedly hold the distinction of having the largest hotel room concentration on a single street.
Alliance Global said on its Web site that Travellers International Hotel Group, Inc., its joint venture with Genting Hong Kong Ltd., will spend over $500 million to further develop Resorts World Manila.
Alliance Global also said Travellers would unveil plans for its second estate, the 31-hectare Resorts World Bayshore near Manila Bay, by the end of the year.
The company is also looking at projects in Boracay, Tagaytay and Batangas. -- Franz Jonathan G. de la Fuente with Reuters
