THE Home Development Mutual Fund or Pag-IBIG filed an administrative case against Pasig Regional Trial Court Judge Rolando Mislang before the Supreme Court Monday.
The complaint followed the temporary restraining order that Mislang issued against the Department of Justice over the case of executives aof property developer Globe Asiatique led by owner Delfin Lee.
Vice President Jejomar Binay, concurrently chairman of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council, ordered the filing of the complaint.
“Shameful. [Mislang] is a big hindrance to the anti-graft and corruption campaign of President Aquino,” Binay said during a dialogue with Globe Asiatique “double sale” victims at the Coconut Palace.
The property developer was accused of skimming off more than P6 billion in Pag-IBIG loan proceeds for its Xevera housing project in Pampanga through ghost borrowers.
Lee got a reprieve from Mislang when the latter issued a TRO that prevented the DoJ from filing cases of syndicated estafa against the developer and some of its executives.
Binay said he is hoping that Mislang will be held criminally liable for his actions even as he called on the Pasig judge to inhibit himself from the Globe Asiatique case.
Meanwhile, another double sale case against Globe Asiatique was forwarded to Pag-IBIG for appropriate action.
Homeowners at Sta. Barbara Village in San Mateo, Rizal claimed that they have received billing statements from Globe Asiatique under different names. Some have also complained of being issued fake copies of their land titles.
Binay said these cases would need to be studied first by Pag-IBIG in order to have a clear picture of their situation. He said that even if the housing fund is not involved in these cases, they would still provide them with legal assistance to help them pursue their case against Globe Asiatique.
