THE Berjaya Group of Companies
continues recently donated P100 million to Gawad Kalinga (GK), the first of the
P300 million pledged amount for three years.

Seri Vincent Tan turned over a cheque worth P100 million to GK Founder and
Chairman Tony Meloto that will be used to build more homes across the country.
“The P100 million donation is just the
first of the P300 million donation that will be provided by Berjaya Group in
three years,” Tan said.
He also said that, “At Berjaya Group
of Companies, a company which I have had the chance to lead and serve for many
years, we always operate in the spirit of philanthropy, of reaching out to
people as we deal with our businesses and establish networks.”
“Truly there is nothing more
heartwarming than being given the chance to share time, effort and talent to
help those who are in need,” Tan said.
The Berjaya Group is one of the
biggest Malaysian conglomerates with business interests in various industries
in Malaysia, across Asia and around the world.
In the Philippines, Berjaya Group has
been in business here for 18 years, and is continuing to invest in the
Philippines both financially and in human resources, as well as supporting the
community in time of needs.
Tan stressed the commitment of Berjaya
Group to the Philippine economy, noting its stability and positive outlook.
Berjaya’s recent investment in the
Philippines is the acquisition of the distributorship of Mazda vehicles.
Besides the P100 million donations to
GK, The Berjaya Group, through its Philippine office, Berjaya Philippines,
donated funds for the construction of 200 houses for residents in Cagayan de
Oro City in Mindanao affected by Typhoon Sendong.
