PLDT, Century Properties seal strategic partnership

(The Philippine Star) Updated October 22, 2012 12:00 AM

MANILA, Philippines - Telecoms leader Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT) with its business units and innovative real estate firm Century Properties Group Inc. recently sealed a strategic partnership that will provide advanced digital connectivity and telecommunications services to the leading property firm’s premium masterplanned and high-rise developments.

PLDT executive vice president and head of Enterprise and International and Carrier Business Eric R. Alberto said this partnership will be a first in high-rise property developments in the Philippines.

He said the PLDT Group will provide “ultra connectivity” to the premium developments of Century Properties, through the various services provided by its business units, PLDT Home and PLDT ALPHA Enterprise, mobile phone subsidiaries Smart Communications and Sun Cellular, and affiliate direct-to-home Digital TV provider Cignal.

Century Properties chief operating officer John Victor R. Antonio said the strategic partnership has led to the creation of a services consolidation initiative by Century to provide its residents with truly move-in ready and fully-connected homes.

Under the Memorandum of Understanding for the initiative called “Ultra Connectivity by Century Properties, Powered by PLDT, Cignal Digital TV, Smart Communications, and Sun Cellular”, PLDT and its business units will provide high-speed internet connection with Fiber to the Home technology; Wi-Fi connection in PLDT’s more than 3,500 hotspots; digital TV service that includes High-Definition channels; a landline telephone with a fully interactive Android tablet; and optional mobile phone services, as well as security solutions such as closed-circuit TVs and access cards for the current projects of Century Properties.

Antonio added that the collaboration between the PLDT Group and Century Properties is a natural step for both companies. “Century wants to bring in first-world technologies to its developments and give its discerning market a worry-free move in experience with first-of-its-kind connectivity services. Hence, the logical step would be to form an alliance with the country’s biggest telecom company,” he said.

The first residential building to carry these services is the Gramercy Residences at Century City, which is scheduled for completion in December 2012.

“Century Properties’ developments are geared towards providing premium lifestyle experiences across its luxury, middle income and affordable market segments, and certainly these will require the best facilities for communication and connectivity,” Alberto added. “We’re more than happy to be Century Properties’ partner in providing these top-class amenities to their residents.”

“The PLDT Group offers everything in telecommunications and digital solutions, and in the same way that’s what we want to provide our residents. When they move in, they have units that are not only fully-fitted and furnished, but also installed with an advanced landline service, Internet, Wi-Fi and digital TV connections that are ready for their use,” Antonio pointed out.
